Let me introduce myself…

I currently serve as the Head of History at Stonar School, a thriving and successful private school in the South West of England. With over 20 years of experience, I specialise in supporting students to achieve excellent results in History.

In addition to my role at Stonar School, I have many years of experience as a History Tutor. My expertise covers a wide range of topics, and I am skilled at helping students make significant progress. I work with all major exam boards, including:

• AQA

• OCR

• EDEXCEL

• CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL

I support students across all GCSE topics and many A Level topics. At A Level, I particularly enjoy teaching:

• Modern Britain

How can I help you…

Typically, most students prefer one-to-one lessons to reinforce their learning. In these sessions, I can recap content and revise key knowledge. However, to gain the most value, students should use me to practice exam questions and develop essential skills.

At GCSE level, I am an Examiner, which means I have up-to-date knowledge of the expectations for all major exam boards. I can work with you to produce grade 9 answers.

At A-Level, I work for exam boards in various roles, and I have extensive teaching and tutoring experience. This means I can help you to develop balanced, evaluative, and analytical arguments in your essays. I use a structured formula with PEDAL paragraphs to guide you. Additionally, we can develop A-grade source and interpretation skills.

If you have a group of classmates who would like to revise together, feel free to inquire about small group lessons. I can accommodate up to 4 students.
